Tickmill is an international broker that has been operating since 2015 within the Tickmill Group, which serves traders through several regulated entities: Seychelles (FSA), the UK (FCA), Cyprus (CySEC) and South Africa (FSCA). The group is known for a low entry threshold and a transparent fee structure, where you either pay through the spread or through a commission. The base conditions look like this: a minimum deposit of $100, more than 600 markets, and platforms from MT4 and MT5 to the proprietary Tickmill Trader and TradingView. This is a CFD broker, so you trade contracts for difference rather than the assets themselves.
The key point is that Tickmill is not a single company. The entity that holds your account, and the protection attached to it, depend on where you are based.
ℹ INFO
Tickmill combines a low entry point with genuinely competitive raw conditions: Classic pays only through the spread, while Raw adds a small commission for spreads from 0.0 pips. But regulation is split across several entities, and the UK and EU branches carry FSCS and ICF protection, while the Seychelles and South Africa entities do not. Which entity holds your account determines your level of protection.

About the broker
Tickmill has been around since 2015 and has grown into a sizeable group, with around 1.3 million registered accounts and hundreds of millions of trades executed. It has built a reputation as a broker for traders who already understand what they are doing.- In business since 2015 - within the Tickmill Group;
- Around 1.3 million registered accounts, more than 900 million trades executed;
- Several regulated entities serving different regions;
- A $100 entry point and a clear spread-or-commission model;
- Platforms - MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, TradingView, Tickmill Trader.
Regulation and legal structure
There is no single regulator. Tickmill is the trading name of a group of companies, each authorised by a different body, and you cannot assume the same protection everywhere.| Company | Regulator | Licence | For |
| Tickmill Ltd | FSA Seychelles | SD008 | International (non-UK/EU) clients |
| Tickmill UK Ltd | FCA (UK) | 717270 | UK clients |
| Tickmill Europe Ltd | CySEC (Cyprus) | 278/15 | EU / EEA clients |
| Tickmill South Africa (Pty) Ltd | FSCA (South Africa) | FSP 49464 | South Africa clients |
Tickmill UK Ltd also holds a Dubai representative office registration (DFSA ref. F007663). Futures and options are offered under the UK entity. Check in your client area which company serves you.
⚠ IMPORTANT
Protection depends entirely on the entity. The UK company is a member of the FSCS, so eligible clients can claim up to GBP 85,000; the European company is in the Cyprus ICF. The Seychelles and South Africa entities do not offer this kind of compensation scheme, and there the level of protection is noticeably lower. Check which company holds your account before you fund it.
The group also states that client funds are kept on segregated accounts, separate from the company's own money, and the brand runs an additional insurance programme under its own conditions. Services are not provided to residents of Singapore, the USA, Japan, India and Iran.
Trading accounts
The account lineup is built on a simple idea: either you pay through the spread or through a commission. Classic is commission-free, Raw trades from 0.0 pips and adds a small charge.| Account | Min deposit | Spread from | Commission | Max leverage | Platform |
| Classic | $100 | 1.6 pips | none | 1:1000 | MT4 / MT5 |
| Raw | $100 | 0.0 pips | $3 per lot per side | 1:1000 | MT4 / MT5 |
| TradingView Raw | $100 | 0.0 pips | $3.5 per lot per side | 1:1000 | Tickmill Trader / TradingView |
Base currencies are USD, EUR, GBP and ZAR on MT4/MT5 accounts and USD on the TradingView Raw account. Islamic (swap-free) and demo accounts are also available.
ℹ INFO
For scalpers and high-frequency traders, Raw is the natural choice: spreads from 0.0 pips with a $3 commission per lot and margin up to 1:1000. For those who prefer a predictable, commission-free entry, Classic is simpler. The TradingView Raw account adds the TradingView charting experience but with a slightly higher commission.
Futures and options (S&P 500, DJIA, NASDAQ) are offered under the UK entity with a higher deposit requirement, from $1,000.
Trading conditions
Tickmill uses market execution and an NDD (no dealing desk) model, so the broker steps in as an intermediary rather than trading against the client. The site states an average execution time of 0.15 seconds - this is the company's own figure, not an independent measurement.- Spread - from 1.6 pips on Classic, from 0.0 pips on Raw and TradingView Raw;
- Commission - none on Classic, $3-$3.5 per lot per side on Raw accounts;
- Leverage - up to 1:1000 on forex and commodities, lower on other classes;
- Buying power by class - crypto up to 1:200, indices up to 1:100, stocks and ETFs up to 1:20;
- Minimum lot - 0.01;
- Scalping, hedging and Expert Advisors - supported;
- Dynamic leverage applies to large positions;
- Swap is charged for positions held overnight and varies by instrument; on the Islamic account it is replaced by a fixed fee.
ℹ INFO
The advertised 1:1000 leverage applies to forex and commodities. On stocks and ETFs it drops to 1:20, and on crypto to 1:200, so the maximum figure is not the whole picture. In the EU and UK, retail clients also face ESMA product limits that reduce leverage further.
